The Green Bay Packers made it official Sunday night. After two weeks of speculation, former 49ers OLB Ahmad Brooks is finally a Packer.
The team announced it signed the 6-foot-3, 259-pound veteran pass rusher in a release Sunday. Brooks, a University of Virginia product, was a Pro Bowler in 2013 and has notched 493 tackles (345 solo), 53.5 sacks, 12 forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, 30 defended passes and three picks in San Francisco, where he played 133 regular-season games from 2008-2016.
The Packers also officially announced their waiver claim to OLB Chris Odom, an undrafted free agent who signed with the Falcons in May. The 6-foot-4, 262-pound Arkansas State product was an All-Sun Belt selection with 53 tackles (28 solo), 12.5 sacks, 17.5 tackles for loss and four forced fumbles through 13 games played for the Red Wolves.
Additionally, the Packers have settled on their 10-man practice squad.
