Mike McCarthy expressed how proud he is of his team after the Packers players released a statement asking for stadium wide unity.

"They've put a lot of time and energy and thought into it," McCarthy said. "Like anything in life, you're never going to have everyone feel 100 percent the same way."

The players decided they will lock arms during the National Anthem on Thursday night prior to the game against the Chicago Bears. They've asked the fans in the stadium to join them as well.

"You want them to have the opportunity to disagree," McCarthy said of his players, "But once the decision is made, it's not okay to be disagreable."

McCarthy said he will be joining his team by locking arms with them.

"Locking arms and honoring the flag I think is a good thing," he said.
