Former Packers TE Mitchell Henry dies at age 24 after battle with cancer

Former Packers tight end Mitchell Henry has died after battling leukemia, according to his alma mater Western Kentucky University. He was 24 years old.

Henry participated in Packers camp in 2015 and made the team's practice squad later that year.

Packers GM Ted Thompson released a statement Friday, saying:

"We were very saddened to learn of the passing of Mitchell Henry. During his time with the Packers, he quickly became a beloved member of our family and made a terrific impression on everyone in our organization. We were fortunate to have had him in our lives. On behalf of the Packers family, we offer our condolences to Mitchell's wife, Madison, and his family and friends."

Henry's family shared this message on Facebook Friday:
