The first phase of the 45-acre Titletown District is almost ready, and fans can soon enjoy a football field and playground among other great amenities.

NBC26 went on a tour of the construction site Tuesday to see how it looked and what still had to be done.

A regulation-sized football field and recreational space, plus a playground for kids, are both scheduled to open to the public on September 15.

There will be an official ribbon-cutting and programming showcase from 3-7:30 p.m. that day.

The real draw of the Titletown District, however, will be best experienced this winter. That's when the sledding hill and ice skating rink will open.

"We'll be making our own snow," said Ed Policy, Packers VP and General Counsel. "We'll have three snowmaking machines and will also make our own ice out here, so we should be able to make snow and ice once the temperature gets approximately 50 degrees or lower."

The tubing hill stretches for 300 feet and will have about a foot of man-made snow during the winter.

Both the ice rink and tubing hill will have a small cost.

The Titletown District is looking for employees to join the new development. For more information, visit their website here.
