As the Winter Meetings continue, the Brewers have apparently made a deal to trade their first baseman.
The Brewers have sent Adam Lind to Seattle. Three young pitching prospects will be coming to Milwaukee in exchange - all under 20 years old: Daniel Missaki, Carlos Herrera and Freddy Peralta.
Missaki went 1-2 with a 3.41 ERA at Class A Clinton of the Midwest League this year.
Herrera went 4-2 with a 3.26 ERA for the Mariners' Dominican Republic minor league developmental team this year.
Peralta went 2-3 with a 4.11 ERA for the Mariners' Arizona Fall League team this season.
“We are excited to add three young starting pitchers, all under 20 years old, to our minor-league system,” said GM David Stearns in a statement. “All three possess quality arms with an advanced feel for the strike zone. We wish Adam well and appreciate his contributions to the 2015 Brewers.”
The deal has been discussed in recent days, even after the Brewers had exercised an option for 2016.
Last season Lind went .277/.360/.460 with 20 home runs and 87 RBI.
