Luxemburg Speedway saw a decline in their attendance over the the past few years and decided to make a drastic change.

"Last year it got really bad to the point the stands were not very full at all. We ended up deciding when we took the track over, one of the things we decided to do is switch nights," Luxemburg Speedway announcer, Joe Orsini said.

The track moved their racing nights from Friday to Sunday at the beginning of the year and immediately saw an uptick in interest.

"A lot of people were excited to see the switch to Sunday nights. We've gotten a ton of support from the community. I think its going to be a real good thing for us whenever we get back to racing."

The corona virus outbreak forced the racetrack to halt the start of their season.

"It's definitely been a huge wrench in the works, its something we didn't anticipate. We had a ton to sort out already with thing being our first year of operation and we're going to pull through this and have some sort of season even if its a little shorter than usual."

If you've never experienced a race at Luxemburg Speedway, Orsini says you're in for a treat.

"We put on a very fast paced show with lots of excitement. Lots of door to door action, and its a lot different than what you see on TV. So if anyone comes out, they are going to get their dollars worth of entertainment."
