GRAND CHUTE (NBC 26) -- The annual Green & Gold Charity Softball Game has been postponed due to coronavirus.

The game was originally slated for Sunday, June 7 at the Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium. Organizers for the event are working on setting a new date. A report on MiLB.com says organizers are hoping for a date later this summer.

All tickets that have already been purchased for the Green & Gold Charity Softball Game will be valid for the to-be-determined rescheduled date. The game and all ticket sales will benefit multiple charities in Northeastern Wisconsin, including causes impacted by COVID-19, the MiLB.com report states.

The report also says NFL has stated that no on-field training can be done until all 32 teams in the league open their facilities. Since the charity softball game is scheduled around a Green Bay Packers camp in June and some teams will not be allowed into their facilities until after June 7, the game will have to be postponed due to no players being available for it.

This is the 20th year of the charity softball event.
