Bay Port junior Cordell Tinch won four events at the WIAA Division 1 Sectional track and field meet on Wednesday in De Pere.

Tinch was victorious in the 110 Meter Hurdles, Triple Jump, High Jump and Long Jump. He was the only athlete to win four events. Tinch has yet to win a state championship in any of his events, but hopes to change that this year.

"I think I'm in a way better place than last year," Tinch said. "This year, I'm in way better shape from summer workouts. I feel pretty good about it."

De Pere pole vaulter Olivia Fabry (only WIAA female to clear 13' in 2017) injured her knee on her final vault and had to be carried off. The sophomore is one of the favorites to win the state championship. She still qualified for state with a 12' vault, but her injury status remains uncertain.

As a team, Kaukuana took first place on the girls side with 91 points. Kimberly placed first for the boys with 150 points.

The State Track and Field Championships will take place June 2 and 3 in La Crosse, Wis.
