The Bay Port Pirates hockey program will make it's first trip to state this year after defeating Neenah / Hortonville / Menasha 3-2 Saturday afternoon.

The Pirates jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period after goals from Ben Mabry and Aaron Ribar.  NHS answered back with a tally in the second from Jack Kraus.  The play of the game came later in that second period, on the wrong end of a 4-3 power play Bay Port forward Bennett DeBouche broke free out of a face off in the Pirates own zone, he beat everyone down the ice and finished off a short handed goal on a brilliant top corner shot.  The DeBouche goal proved to be essential, NHM's Alex Piotrowski cut the Bay Port lead to one in the third but the Rockets never get over the hump.
