How a Life Coach could help some with pandemic burnout

BROWN COUNTY, Wis (NBC 26) -- Not everyone is coping with the stress, related to the pandemic, in the same ways. At the Ashwaubenon School District, Lisa Bellile, who specializes as a social and emotional learning coordinator says folks from all walks of life are feeling the health impacts of the pandemic.

"I don't think only teachers are struggling with this. But our health care workers, parents in general, whether you're working outside of the home or not."

Recently, Bellile became a certified life coach with the goal of helping people, virtually, for now, focus on their social and emotional well-being.

"How do you handle stress and anxiety and change, and being flexible with that," says Bellile.

Bellile has created virtual workshops for families where she attempts to helps folks, collectively reinforce some of the core values, that make us all human.

"The empathy, the compassion, the kindness, the gratitude."

And by reinforcing some of these values in people's lives, Bellile says kids and adults can help make improvements to their mental and physical well-being.

"Sometimes we just need that person in our life that makes us feel a little bit better. The days going to go better. Our weeks are going to seem a little less heavy."

The guidance and workshops are not therapy or counseling, but an opportunity for some to try an alternative to self-improvement.

"A life coach isn't about hitting rock bottom and seeking help at that time. It's building upon what you already practice in your own life, or maybe it's something that got put by the wayside. It's just nice to have that third party help you and give you some guidance along the way," says Bellile.
