MANITOWOC, Wis. (NBC26) -- There is a home on Daisy Drive in Manitowoc that for the past five years has been putting on quite the show, while making a difference in the community.
Captain Jeremy Kronforst started "Frosty's Festival of Lights" after purchasing lights and displays from another family who moved away, but also used to do a display every year. Kronforst seeing it as an opportunity to replicate one of his favorite movies, 'National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation', also learned he could help the annual "Shop with a Cop" fundraiser.
There's a donation box right in front of the home. Visitors can tune their radio to 89.1 to get the full Halloween effect of the display. For every $150 donated, they can add another child to the program. Last year’s Halloween donations helped to add 5 more children to the 2018 Shop with a Cop event!
Donations can also be dropped at the Manitowoc Police Department front counter, 910 Jay Street. Checks should be written to MPPA Shop With A Cop.
Light show is located on Daisy Dr., Manitowoc, WI
Hours of operation:
6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. - Monday thru Thursday and Sunday
6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. - Friday and Saturday
"Frosty's Festival of Lights" will swap out on November 1st and Kronforst says he'll get started on the Christmas display which will go up the day after Thanksgiving.
The Manitowoc Police Department also hosts a wreath sale every year to benefit its K9 program. The K9 Unit has teamed up with Honeymoon Acres to offer Holiday wreaths of various sizes, swags (large or mini), cross or candy canes. All the proceeds from this sale benefit the Manitowoc Police Department K9 Unit. Click HERE for more on how to order yours.
