APPLETON, Wis. (AP) -- The mother of a man who was killed at an Appleton nightclub is suing the accused shooter, who has not yet gone to trial.

Jacquelyn Pische, of Gillett, has filed a wrongful death lawsuit in Outagamie County Circuit Court against Chong Leng Lee. He has been charged with fatally shooting 25-year-old Joshua Richards at the former Luna Lounge in December 2013.

The Green Bay man was shot at close range and died two days later. Post-Crescent Media reports Pische is asking for an unspecified award and punitive damages.

Lee is scheduled to go on trial in February on a charge of first-degree intentional homicide and six other counts.
