WPS is warning businesses and residents of another surge in scam calls.
Since Monday, January 27th, nearly 30 customers have reported receiving a call from a person impersonating a WPS or utility employee trying to get money.
The scammers have been targeting businesses, primarily around Oshkosh, Green Bay, and Sturgeon Bay.
In one case, a business fell victim to a scammer and transferred several hundreds of dollars.
WPS says they will never ask you to wire money, or ask for payment in a threatening manner.
