Students at Denmark Middle School learned about natural gas safety from an educational program through Wisconsin Public Service. WPS showing students the power of natural gas through experiments. The hope is the students will understand the dangers of of carbon monoxide and the importance to check appliances annually. "When you see kids raise their hands that they've seen some of this stuff and maybe they realize they should put more thought into it. I like to see that connection," said Martin Malcheski with WPS.
The four important safety messages Public Service Gas Technicians will deliver are:
-Natural gas is safe if used properly
-Know and respect the dangers of carbon monoxide
-Natural gas appliances need to be checked annually by a professional
-If you smell natural gas, call WPS immediately
