EAA spokesperson Dick Knapinski reports that the world's largest flying water bomber will not be performing in a scheduled air show today.

Knapkinski says the Martin Mars was taking off for a show last night when a check engine light for one of the 4 engines came on.

When full of water, the plane weighs around 160,000 lbs. It made a precautionary landing, and the plane hit something the pilots did not see submerged under the water.

The plane had more water coming in, but it was all able to be pumped out. No  one was injured during these events and the Martin Mars is still open for paid tours. However, it will not be performing as scheduled today.
