Saturday was World Cancer Day and for many it means a chance to raise awareness about a disease that's becoming all too common.
In recent years cancer treatments have grown and changed allowing doctors the chance to diagnose cancer earlier than ever before giving them the chance to get ahead of the disease.
For cancer survivors they say new developments are huge in their treatments... And they look forward to new findings in years to come.
"It's not as scary as you think, that the doctors are intelligent, they do the research, things are changing every day even since my last remission a new drug has come out," explained cancer survivor, Mandy Ehlke.
Doctors are continuously working toward a cure for the disease, but each and every year they say new ways to treat it become available.
