Woman seriously injured in crash with semi

A 78-year-old town of Menasha woman was seriously injured after the car she was driving struck a semi truck on American Drive just south of Fox Cities Drive.

On Jan. 29, 2016 at 10:55 a.m. town of Menasha officers were sent to the crash. As officers arrived they found the southbound car had struck a semi truck driven by a 61-year-old Oshkosh man, which was making a backing maneuver and was perpendicular to the flow of traffic.

The town of Menasha Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance arrived shortly afterwards and were able to extricate the woman from the wreckage. She was airlifted to a local hospital by ThedaStar helicopter.

The accident remains under investigation by the town of Menasha Police Department along with the assistance of the Wisconsin State Patrol due to the involvement of a commercial motor vehicle.
