A 68-year-old woman was injured in a hit and run Wednesday morning in Sheboygan. Police say she was walking in the crosswalk at the intersection of North 14th Street and Michigan Avenue when an 18-year-old Sheboygan man hit her and fled the scene.
Investigators say an eyewitness called police and followed the suspect's car. The information from that witness allowed officers to track down the suspect and arrest him.
The pedestrian was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. She suffered multiple bruises and was released.
Police say alcohol and drugs were not factors in the incident. The man faces felony hit and run charges and other traffic offenses.
