Authorities are reporting a woman died after crashing into a tree in Marquette County.
Marquette County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened around 7 p.m. on Sunday night on Ember Drive in Westfield Township. The sheriff's office says the driver drove off the road, striking a tree.
The Sheriff's Office identified 61-year-old Cynthia Heide as the driver. She was the only person in the car at the time of the crash. Emergency crews took her first to Divine Savior Hospital in Portage, and then she was transported to to UW Hospital in Madison, where she died from the injuries she sustained from the crash.
The crash is under investigation. The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office says this is Marquette County’s second fatal crash this year.
