A woman, accused of two robberies in the same day, was sentenced to more than six years in prison Thursday.
Kimberly Murrell, 44 of Appleton, was emotional at her sentencing hearing as she apologized for committing a pair of robberies back in January.
"I'm really sorry for what happened and I'm real sorry my family has been going through a lot lately (crying) and this has been hard on me too" said Kimberly Murrell to the judge during sentencing.
Police say in January, Murrell tried to rob the U.S. Bank on North Durkee Street in Appleton. They say she demanded cash from the teller with some kind of weapon.
Then after she left the bank, officers say she was seen fighting with an elderly woman as she tried to steal the woman's purse.
Police also say Murrell was under the influence of drugs and alcohol at the time of these robberies.
Murrell was sentenced to three years in prison, then another three and a half years under extended supervision.
The judge also ordered Murrell to go through a drug treatment program during her three and a half years of extended supervision.
