Wisconsin's largest solar energy center coming to Two Rivers

Posted
TWO RIVERS-- Two Rivers will soon be home to Wisconsin's largest solar energy center.

WPPI Energy and NextEra Energy Resources announced plans this week to build a 100 mega-watt solar energy center.

The company says the center will serve more than 23000 people with affordable, clean energy across Wisconsin, Upper Michigan and Iowa.

NextEra Energy plans to build and operate on land across from its existing Point Beach Nuclear Plant.

The company says the project will create 150 to 200 jobs during construction, which could last six to nine months.

The Point Beach Solar Energy Center is scheduled for 2021.
