Some of us turn to gadgets, other to apps, but what you might need to reach your health goals this new year is already in the palm of your hand. Jason from AT&T joined us on “Wisconsin Tonight” to show us that what's already inside your phone could give your workout a boost.

“MyFitnessPal” - Free. Available on: Android, BlackBerry, iOS, Windows Phone, Web

We live in a world of temptation, cheap pleasures, stress, and convenience—all of which can affect our diet and health. MyFitnessPal is a mobile app and website that gives you a wealth of tools for tracking what and how much you eat, and how many calories you burn through activity. Of all the calorie counters I've used, MyFitnessPal is by far the easiest one to manage, and it comes with the largest database of foods and drinks. With the MyFitnessPal app you can fastidiously watch what you eat 24/7, no matter where you are.

"JEFIT" is a workout app that gives you over 1300+ different workouts/lifts with instructional videos on proper technique, you can plan your workouts, track your progress for both cardio exercises and strength training exercises and compete against your friends. It also comes with different diet plans that pair up with what type of physical improvements you want to make. Example is for someone wanting to add muscle mass it will give you recommendations for a high protein diet which may be different for someone that wants to get leaner and loss weight. All of this can be tracked in conjunction with your workout schedule/exercises.

“Sleep Better-Sleeping Cycle Tracker" - Sleeping pattern app that can track your sleeping cycles and wake you up during your personalized "wake up window" which is when you are in your lightest sleep cycle. Also allows you to sync with Apple Health.
