Project Linus is a national organization donating blankets to children in crisis. The Green Bay Chapter of Project Linus meets regularly to process blankets for donation to local facilities that work with children.
The Green Bay Chapter of Project Linus challenged their blanketeers to make a quilt from a Calendar Babies book panel. The panels were misprinted so the manufacturer donated the bolts of panels to Project Linus National Headquarters. The bolts were distributed to the Project Linus coordinators who attended the National conference in June 2016.
Each blanketeer used their own ideas and fabrics to create their quilt. The quilts are amazing and are a great display of creativity.
The quilts made for this challenge will be on display at NWTC's Artisan Center from February 4th to March 11th.
Please support the Green Bay chapter by purchasing tickets to vote for your favorite quilt. Tickets are 6 for $5.00 and are available at the Artisan Center Monday-Thursday 8:30-4, Friday 8:30-3 and 10-2 on February 4th and March 11th. February 4th and March 11th are Project Linus work days, please stop in to see the quilts on display and blankets donated during the month.
The favorite quilt will win a collection of fabrics in a rainbow of colors. A drawing will also be held from the voting tickets for a chance to win a Project Linus tote bag. The winners will be announced on March 11th.
The finished quilts will be donated to Project Linus to be distributed to local kids in crisis. Project Linus delivers blankets to the local hospitals and Family Services who service children.
