Next Great Bicycle Adventure Route 66

Posted
Biking experts and owners of WE BIKE, Peter and Tracy Flucke joined us on “Wisconsin Tonight” to talk about their new adventure.

They’ve traveled around the country on their bikes, and continue to teach biking safety among many other topics.
This summer they will be taking the classic American Road Trip, by bicycle - Historic Route 66 was established in 1926 and is also known as the “Main Street of America” or “The Mother Road” - stretches from Chicago, IL to Santa Monica, CA – approximately 2,500 miles

The trip will begin on June 3rd from Green Bay and will take about 50 days, averaging 75 miles a day, riding six days a week. This year they are going to invite anyone that is interested to ride with them to help us celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Bikecentential.

The weekend of June 3rd has been designated as National Bike Travel Weekend and they encourage everyone to go for a ride, weather it is 1 mile or a 100 miles – one day or overnight.
