Prevent Suicide Fox Cities, in partnership with the Zero Suicide Community Initiative, will host "Working Minds: Suicide Prevention in the Workplace," on Friday, March 18th, 2016 at Fox Valley Technical College, Room A170.
The founder of Prevent Suicide Fox Cities, Mary Sullivan, joined us on “Wisconsin Tonight” for a preview of the events.
Dr. Sally Spencer-Thomas is the presenter of the program on Friday March 18th. She sees issues of suicide prevention and mental health promotion from many perspectives. She is known nationally and internationally as an innovator of social change. She helped to initiate Man Therapy (www.mantherapy.org) through the Carson J Spencer Foundation named after her brother who died by suicide.
The cost of the event is $20.00 and participants can choose either a morning or afternoon session. Pre-registration through Eventbrite is required and walk-ins are welcome. Check in starts at 7:30 a.m. for the morning session and Noon for the afternoon session.
The next event will be "A Women's Symposium: Taking Care of Our Men's Mental Health," on Saturday, March 19th, 2016 at Fox Valley Technical College, Room E130 and the Commons, ENT 10, West Parking Lot.
The cost of the event is $10.00, pre-registration through Eventbrite is required and walk-ins are welcome. Check in starts at 8:00 a.m, resource/information booths are available before and after the session, keynote address from 9:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., with Q & A to follow.
