Sturgeon Bay’s Jefferson Street Jubilee & Celebration of Summer takes place June 25. Those attending can shop, learn about and experience the district of boutiques inside beautifully restored historic buildings and homes.
The Jefferson Street Jubilee & Celebration of Summer will host a variety of activities and live music to enhance your strolling and shopping experience, on Jefferson Street between 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday, June 25.
The independently owned and operated businesses are hosting demonstrations by such artists as Julie Hendricks outside of Bliss, blacksmith James Viste in the parking lot of Honeypicker, and a caricature artists at Door County Rubber Stamps & Scrapbooking. Monticello will host a trunk show and sell fancy hats, along with a Garden Party and garden art; huge bubbles will entertain children of all ages at Child’s Play, an “animal” petting zoo creates fun photo ops at Jefferson Street Books, and games abound at Elliott’s Mercantile.
Also, in July, get ready to celebrate Independence Day in Door County.
The big event takes place at Sunset Park, Monday, July 4 for an old fashioned ice cream social, food, drinks, music and fabulous fireworks.
At 5 p.m. Dirty Deuce & Friends will perform on the Music Stage at Sunset Park. The night will rock when WIFEE & the HUZz BAND take the stage around 7 p.m., and lead the crowds in a soulful rendition of the National Anthem at the start of the firework show.
Get your brat, hot dog and burger fix without firing up a grill! Expert volunteer grillers from the Pioneer Fire Department have you covered, and all proceeds support the Sturgeon Bay Fire Department. Gyros and philly cheesesteak will help feed your crowd too. As you watch the sky explode with color, treat yourself to a sweet treat with an old-fashioned ice cream sundae with cherries and chocolate! Kettle corn, cotton candy and sno cones will satisfy sweet cravings, too.
Adult refreshments including wine, and beer crafted by the Door County Brewing Company, will also be available to purchase from the Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center. All proceeds from the ice cream social and beverage booth go towards the Fourth of July celebration via your hosts at the Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center.
