Posted
Children’s Week and Children’s Parade are joining forces to create one amazing week for kids that will run Sunday, July 24 – Saturday, July 30. Children’s Week is a community-wide celebration of kids featuring the Children’s Parade, Playground Fair, a free day at the YMCA and more family friendly events.

Children 16 and under and their families will get free admission at any of the five Fox Cities YMCA locations on Monday, July 25.

The 8th annual Children’s Parade, presented by ThedaCare, will be held Wednesday, July 27 with the Parade starting at 6 p.m. Kids 12 and under are invited to march in this non-motorized parade down College Avenue. After the Parade there will be a reception in City Park complete with food and music, and a family friendly movie in Houdini Plaza. Registration will start June 1 at buildingforkids.org/childrens-week.

The biggest Parks & Recreation event of the year, the Playground Fair, will be Thursday, July 28 and Friday, July 29. Running from 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. both days, the Playground Fair at Pierce Park will include carnival games, the trackless train and inflatables.

Other events for Children’s Week include a Kids Rummage Sale, free swim days, a “dive-in” movie, ice skating, bowling and more.

A full list of activities will be available on the Appleton Parks and Recreation and The Building for Kids Children’s Museum websites, as well as the Children’s Week Facebook page.
