Peter and Becky Delain are helping thousands of children around Northeast Wisconsin, carrying out “Ben’s Wish”.
Their son Ben was killed in an ATV crash in August 2007. He was just 11 years old.
Just two days before Ben died, while on a family trip; he did something that would serve as an inspiration for his parents. He grabbed an apple, a fresh piece of fruit, and tossed it to the man in need. He gave his food to a homeless man. Two days later, Ben was gone.
Peter and Becky said they knew they had to do something carrying on their son's generosity, so they started the organization to help children in need of food.
Their biggest collection site is Fire over the Fox. They ask those attending to drop off food at the Liberty Bell Ringing (Brown County Courthouse): 1:00 PM - 1:30 PM or both East & West Ends of the Ray Nitschke Bridge on Main St: 1:30 PM - 9:30 PM, on Monday, July 4.
