Appleton to host first ever "Mom Prom"

Posted

Appleton’s first Mom Prom is coming soon. The event will be held on Saturday, April 29th, from 7:00 p.m. to midnight.

Appleton Mom Prom is a ladies’ night out that supports a good cause. It is organized by a group of local moms, it’s a chance for moms and their friends to get together, dress up a little, and dance the night away.

Mom Prom features a DJ dance and will be held in the River Room at the Paper Discovery Center, 425 West Water Street, Appleton.

Appleton Mom Prom will raise money for Operation Cinderella, a Fox Cities nonprofit organization that serves at-risk and underprivileged high school girls through a prom dress giveaway event and an empowerment conference.

There are Mom Proms all over the country, and this is the first one in Appleton. A group of women in Canton, MI hosted their first Mom Prom in 2006 and the phenomenon has spread since then, with over 75 events in 26 states planned for this year. Each Prom supports a charity.

Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased online at www.AppletonMomProm.com. Only 150 will be sold, so women are encouraged to buy their tickets now. The event promises to be an incredible night of fun and dancing while supporting a meaningful cause.
