It's called #Run4Allison.
A Luxemburg, Wisconsin native, now an Assistant Principal at a middle school near Dallas, Texas, has started a campaign to help raise money for a fellow teacher battling a rare form of cancer.
The school held a pep rally Thursday for the teacher battling tongue, neck and head cancer.
Bruce Hermans had the idea to run in the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon later this month. Since he was raised a Packers fan, Hermans created two GoFundme pages to support his colleague: One for Packers fans, and the other for Cowboys fans.
Hermans says whichever fanbase raises the most dollars for Allison, that's the jersey he plans to wear when he runs the final mile of the Cellcom!
"Its hard to get kids to understand and to empathize in situations like this but I feel like we've done that," said Bruce Hermans. "They've caught the heart of whats going on and the heart of helping another person in their time of need and helping another family member here at school in need. When you get 1,250 kids moving in the same direction to do something like that, its really special."
