One of two Wisconsin girls accused of trying to kill their classmate to please horror character Slender Man has pleaded not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect.

The girl entered her plea in Waukesha County court on Friday.

Judge Michael Bohren appointed two doctors to examine her and turn in a report on her mental status by Oct. 6.

The girl and her friend, Morgan Geyser, have been charged with attempted homicide in connection with the May 2014 attack.

Prosecutors allege the girl and Geyser lured another girl into a wooded Waukesha park and stabbed her multiple times.
