Snow caused increasing issues on Northeast Wisconsin roads Wednesday, with roads quickly becoming slippery.
When driving in winter weather, NBC26 reminds you to leave room for maintenance vehicles and plows.
Also, use your brakes carefully and brake early. Just the slightest tapping of the brakes can help you slow down safely in the snow. Leave a few car lengths between you and other drivers just to be safe.
Bridges and overpasses can be slippery even when the rest of the pavement is in good condition, so be aware when driving other those.
Finally, never use cruise control in winter conditions, or become over-confident in a truck or SUV that has four-wheel drive.
