What you need to know about the 2018 Wisconsin State Fair

The 167th annual Wisconsin State Fair has begun. It will open Thursday, Aug. 2 and run through
Sunday, Aug. 12 at Wisconsin State Fair Park in West Allis. The fair features agriculture events, entertainment, attractions and of course, food!

Here's a look at what you need to know when heading to the fair: 

Hours:

Sunday – Thursday: 8 a.m. – 11 p.m.
Friday – Saturday: 8 a.m. – 12 a.m.
Final Sunday: 8 a.m. – 10 p.m.
Re-entry hand-stamps cease two hours prior to park closure. Ticket sales and fair entry
cease one hour to park closure.

Buildings/Attractions

Most attractions, including the WonderFair Wheel, open at 9 am. SpinCity Amusement
Ride & Game Area opens at 10 am daily.

Most buildings are open from 9 am – 10 pm daily, including the Exposition Center. On the final Sunday, August 12, barn closures begin at 2 pm and all buildings close at 9 pm.

Adults (12 & over): $14
Military / Seniors: $8
Youth (ages 6-11): $8
Children (5 & under): FREE

Parking

$12 per vehicle including vans; $6 per motorcycle. Preferred Parking available in
Milwaukee Mile Lot and North Lot for $25 (can be reserved ahead of time at WiStateFair.com, first-come, first-served day of)

Entrance Policies

Fairgoers under 18 years of age entering after 6 pm must be accompanied by a parent
or guardian 21 years of age or older. Proof of age is required. All patrons and their
possessions are subject to search and will pass through metal detection upon entering
the Fair Park. No carry-in alcoholic beverages or weapons allowed.

Additional prohibited items include, without limitation: contraband, illegal drugs
and controlled substances, cans or glass bottles, lawn chairs, skateboards, in-line
skates, bicycles, kites and frisbees. Umbrellas, lawn chairs, signs, recording devices
and selfie sticks are prohibited in the Main Stage presented by Potawatomi Hotel &
Casino. Pets are not permitted on site; working service animals are permitted.
Proper attire, including shirts and shoes, must be worn at all times. Smoking is not
allowed in indoor facilities or the Main Stage area, including e-cigarettes. Acts, events
and show times are subject to change. All events are rain or shine.
 

Baby Care Centers

Families can visit one of three private, comfortable areas designated as Family/Baby Care
Centers: one in the Exposition Center, one in the Guest Services Pavilion and one on North
Grandstand Avenue next to Bell Ambulance. Each center offers an area for nursing
mothers as well as a diaper changing station.

Rentals

Daily rentals of strollers, wheelchairs and/or electric scooters are available at three
locations in the Fair Park. Rental fees are as follows: $12 Single Stroller; $17 Wagon; $25
Wheelchair; $60 Electric Scooters. A valid, major credit card must be used as a deposit.
Visa, MasterCard, Discover and cash accepted for payment.
