During the early morning hours of Feb. 24, a fire was reported at a well-known local restaurant and tavern, the Wayside Bar, located at 295 W. Division St., Fond du Lac. This business has been a landmark in the community and is located on a well-traveled street.
Investigators with the Fond du Lac Police Department, Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue and the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation/State Fire Marshal’s Office have determined the cause of the fire to be arson.
Investigators are seeking assistance from the public with the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Lee Mikulec at 920-322-3726 or by calling the Wisconsin Arson Hotline at 800-362-3005. There is up to a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of an arsonist.
