Local teacher fired for misconduct

The Manawa Board of Education unanimously voted to fire a teacher for a potential situation involving misconduct by a professional staff member.

In a news release, the school district said the misconduct was not sexual in nature and called it a personnel issue. 

Manawa police are conducting an investigation and conducting interviews. The teacher, who NBC26 is not naming at this time, had been placed on administrative leave.
