Polls show a tight race in Wisconsin, where neither Trump nor Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton is hugely popular.

Waukesha County is one of the most conservative in Wisconsin. It's part of a ring of heavily Republican suburban counties surrounding liberal Milwaukee that are vital for Trump if he has any hopes of winning the state.

Trump lost Wisconsin to Ted Cruz in the April primary. He last visited the state Aug. 16. Clinton hasn't campaigned in Wisconsin since losing the primary to Bernie Sanders.

Trump's running mate, Mike Pence, spent Tuesday in the Madison area. Chelsea Clinton will appear at a rally Friday in Green Bay.
