Warm weather is bringing out people from all across Wisconsin to enjoy the first 70's of the year. Whether its yard work, boating, grilling or just enjoying the sunshine people didn't let these summer like temperatures pass them by.
It was beautiful out there today. Odd to think that earlier this week we were starting our mornings with temperatures in the teens. But with the sun out there now it's official, we're at the least inching towards summer.
In the last three days we've grinded out temperatures in the 50's to the 60's and now finally into the 70's.
"Beautiful sun and the kids out here moving and grooving and doing their thing," says Jackie Klanchar who’s at the skate park in Green Bay today watching the athletes do their thing.
This weather isn’t really that bad for mid-April. Today we were just 10 degrees away from a record high. And with the sun finally shining bright enough to warm us up again, the sky's the limit to what you can get done outside.
"This is the official kick off I'd say,” says Scott Thompson of Green Bay who took advantage of the perfect weather to fly a kite with his wife and friend.
"It's pretty much perfect. To get a light breeze maybe 7-10 mile per hours. No mosquitoes yet. Nice sunny day," adds Thompson.
And soon enough you'll start to notice the real signs of spring, pushing through the soil.
"She wanted to start a garden. Hopefully it'll stay about 60-65 and above and we can just keep on planting," says Kim Fruin of Green Bay who is planting a community garden today with her daughter Kara in east Green Bay.
And with just over a month until summer is officially here, take what you can from Mother Nature right now. Because whatever you want to call the season, it's getting comfortable again outdoors.
While it's not officially summer just yet, here in northeast Wisconsin we don't need a calendar to tell us the season has arrived, so enjoy every minute of it while you can.
