Governor Scott Walker issued an executive order suspending certain regulations for petroleum transportation. The move was made after the West Shore Pipeline shut down. That line is vital to the fuel supply in the Green Bay area.
"Now, we want to make sure the Green Bay area continues to have an adequate supply as we head into the fall harvest and winter seasons, " The Governor explained. "This order will loosen certain restrictions to help carriers transport petroleum products more efficiently while maintaining safety. We will continue to closely monitor the situation as we work toward long-term solutions.”
The decision allows trucks to exceed weight limits while transporting fuel on Wisconsin's highway system.
