Republican Gov. Scott Walker is hinting he won't seek a fourth term.

Walker is nearly midway through his second term. He's expected to run for a third four-year term in November 2018.

The governor told the crowd during a Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce luncheon that his wife would kill him if he served as governor beyond another six years. He said that former Gov. Tommy Thompson's record is safe.

Thompson was midway through his fourth term in 2001 when he resigned to serve on then-President George W. Bush's cabinet.

Walker left the luncheon without speaking to reporters.
