Agencies from the Fox Cities Housing Coalition are teaming up to count of individuals experiencing housing instability.

Volunteers in the Fox Valley searched between the hours of 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. Wednesday night into Thursday morning. They found 5 people sleeping outside. They estimate the total number of people experiencing homelessness to be around 300 including shelters and transitional housing.

January 2016 saw 5 people sleeping outside across the Fox Cities and 329 people experiencing homelessness, including those in shelters and temporary housing.

The "Point-in-Time" count provides agencies, from local governments all the way to Congress, with reliable statistically data to deal with the issue of homelessness. The snapshot provides those agencies to use their resources to develop programs to address the issue.
