For some veterans and seniors, new technology can be daunting.
To help them, AT&T and New Horizons of Wisconsin hosted free technology training Friday in Appleton.
The seniors and veterans learned how to stay safe in today's digital world, and showed seniors how to stay connected to family and friends with smartphones and tablets.
"While cell phones, smartphones and tablets have allowed us to stay connected with friends and family more than ever before, it can sometimes be challenging for some veterans and seniors to actually use this new technology," said Patrick Riley, President of New Horizons of Wisconsin-Fox Cities.
The number one thing seniors wanted to know was how to send and receive pictures of their grandchildren.
"Anytime we can get closer to our customers to make the general consumers more informed about how to use their product, we think there's a bond there that really has value, and it's a good thing to do anything we can to broaden our reach in the community," said Scott VanderSanden, President of AT&T Wisconsin.
The lecture was part of the nationwide Digital You program. For more information on that program, visit the website here.
