Originally the Midyear Commencement Ceremony was scheduled for December 17, but due to weather conditions Chancellor Andy Leavitt says he made the difficult decision to cancel the event.
"I heard the response, saw the petition and listened to you," Leavitt said of the UW-Oshkosh students. "We want to give you the commencement you deserve."
The rescheduled Midyear Commencement Ceremony will take place in Kolf.
The alternative dates offered earlier will remain for those unable to attend the rescheduled event.
"Commencement is the milestone that marks the end of [an] incredible accomplishment. As a community, the campus needs to pull together to give you, our students, the experience you have earned, " Leavitt said.
More details of the rescheduled ceremony will be announced soon.
