An Oshkosh graduate made the trip to Rio de Janeiro to compete in the Olympic games.
Michael McPhail, is making the trip for a second time. He first competed in the 2012 games in London.
He’ll be competing in the prone shooting competition, where shooters lie on the ground, and shoot targets 50 meters away.
Michael’s former coach in college, Mark Bernarde, says he’s confident in McPhail. He says, “he was very driven when it comes to shooting, if they cancelled class for instance, he would come down and spend the hour shooting…”
McPhail will compete this Friday. He hopes to be the first American to medal in the event since 2008.
