USGS confirms earthquakes in Waupaca County

The United States Geological Survey confirmed reports of earthquakes in Waupaca County. 

Earthquakes were confirmed on July 7th and 15th about 7.5 miles north of Iola. 

Waupaca County Emergency Management received reports from area residents of buildings shaking and rumbling noises. 

A magnitude 1.3 was confirmed by USGS on July 7th at 2:35 p.m. and a magnitude 1.5 was confirmed on July 15th at 1:39 a.m.

There have been no reports of damage to structures. 

The investigation continues into other reports in the area. 

The last confirmed earthquake in Waupaca County was in March of 2012 near Clintonville.
