We first brought you Madyson Letourneau's story in our NBC26 Cares segment.
She's a toddler who just finished treatment for a rare form of cancer.
Her family decided to host a 5K and 10K walk/run over the week -- called "Miles for Madyson". They wanted to raise money for the organizations that helped them through Madyson's journey – The Ronald McDonald House and the MACC Fund.
The first ever run-walk raised more than $24,000 -- they had 578 registered participants.
All the money will help more families fight cancer.
