Thousands of union workers in Wisconsin and across the country are facing possible major cuts to their pension plans.

Hundreds of workers gathered in Green Bay on Sunday morning to hear about a plan that could fix the issue.

Local leaders with the National Committee to Protect Pension say lawmakers will introduce a bill that would separate retirees from active workers.

"They can't keep their promises. They say your pensions need to be cut and we said no. We made our commitment, we worked hard, we played by the rules and now it's your turn to step up and guarantee our pensions the way it was intended," said Terry Black.

Committee leaders say a combination of retirees, outnumbering workers and government regulations have led to what they are calling a crisis.
