The number of people applying for unemployment benefits tumbled to a 40 year low last week.
The Labor Department reports 247,000 people sought unemployment benefits. That's the lowest number since November of 1973. Analysts say employers are hanging on to their workers, and may be looking to hire more as the economy continues to grow.
