Two teens are in custody after leading police on a chase through Brown and Oconto counties in a stolen car.
It began with a traffic stop in Howard around 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday. The vehicle fled northbound in the southbound lanes of I-41 with speeds in excess of 100 mph. The vehicle continued into Oconto County, where Oconto County sheriff’s deputies were called to assist with tire deflation devices.
Before the vehicle got to the devices, it lost control, and left the roadway on County Highway I, west of Highway 141.
Brown County deputies were able to use their squad cars to keep the suspect vehicle from fleeing.
Two squads and the suspect vehicle were damaged in the incident.
A handgun was also recovered from the stolen vehicle.
One Brown County deputy and one suspect were treated and released for minor injuries.
Charges are being filed against the suspects.
