Person of interest in custody after two shot in Fond du Lac

The Fond du Lac Police Department has identified a person of interest in Wednesday night’s shooting incident at the Forest Plaza Apartments. Thursday afternoon, investigators took a 31-year-old Fond du Lac man into custody, who is considered a person of interest in this case.

The man is currently being held in the Fond du Lac County Jail on a probation hold from a previous conviction. No arrests have been made in connection with the incident and no updates are available on the condition of the victims from Wednesday’s incident.

Two people are in the hospital after being shot in Fond du Lac. 

Police were called to the Forest Plaza Apartments around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday. 

Two victims were found with gunshot wounds at the back entrance to the apartment complex. 

A 26-year-old Fond du Lac man was flown to Theda Care Medical Center in critical condition. 

A 17-year-old Fond du Lac female teen was brought to St. Agnes Hospital in serious condition and later transferred to Children's Hospital in Milwaukee. 

At this point in the investigation no suspects have been identified. 

Investigators don't believe this was a random act.
