Two people have now died from a wrong-way crash over the weekend in the Town of Scott.
The Brown County Sheriff's Office issued an update on Monday for a crash that happened Saturday night around 7:45 p.m. on STH 57 southbound, approximately 8/10 of a mile north of Wequiock Road.
The Sheriff's Office says Terry Barner was driving a Chrysler PT Cruiser northbound in the southbound lanes when he crashed into a Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Stuart Schindler. Schindler's Jeep then left the roadway, over-turned in the median, and burst into flames. Other drivers stopped and pulled Schindler out of the wreckage.
The Sheriff's Office says Barner died in the crash. Schindler was taken to the hospital with severe injuries. On Monday, the Sheriff's Office says Schindler had succumbed to his injuries and passed away.
The crash is still under investigation by the Brown Co. Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit.
